But according to Andrew Crowell, Head of High Performance, Wellbeing and Culture for Ray White Queensland, the biggest similarity between a high performing athlete and a high performing real estate agent is not pressure.

They're both human beings.

That insight sits at the centre of the partnership between Ray White Queensland and the Brisbane Lions, and at the heart of Andrew’s role within Ray White.

For Andrew, the similarities go further.

Both AFL and real estate are fast-paced, unpredictable arenas where success depends on reading the play, reacting quickly, and staying agile amid constant change. High performers, whether on the field or in property, aren’t defined by perfect conditions, they’re defined by how they respond when things don’t go according to plan. The best footballers manage unpredictability, and the best agents do the same.

When Andrew arrived at the Brisbane Lions in 2017, the club was struggling. Losses were heavy and confidence was low.

One of the first changes was not tactical, it was cultural.

The organisation shifted from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset. Failure stopped being something to fear and became something to learn from and weaknesses became development areas. Players were encouraged to take the game on without fear of mistakes.

Just as importantly, the club strengthened its focus on genuine care. Players were not treated simply as footballers. They were treated as people with families, pressures and lives outside the game. Performance improved not only because standards lifted, but because people felt supported.

That same philosophy underpins Ray White’s approach to high performance.

Andrew often speaks about reducing the gap between your best and worst day. High performance is not about perfection, it’s about raising your minimum standard, not taking shortcuts, communicating well even when under pressure and holding your standards when energy is low.

You may not have a brilliant day, but you ensure you do not have a disastrous one.

For agents, that discipline matters, but discipline alone is not enough. In elite sport, no athlete performs alone. Behind every player is a team of coaches, analysts, medical staff and support professionals working in sync.

Ray White operates the same way.

When you engage a Ray White agent, you’re not relying on one individual. You’re backed by a group that brings the whole team - training, technology, leadership, support.

It means our members are not navigating unpredictable markets alone. They’re supported to stay sharp, focused and accountable. They’re part of a culture that encourages growth, not fear, and they’re surrounded by people who help them prepare properly, communicate better and perform consistently.

High performance, discipline and genuine care are not slogans. They are embedded in how our members operate.

Whether it’s on the field or under the auction hammer, success rarely belongs to one standout performer. It belongs to the team behind them.

That is what the partnership between Ray White Queensland and the Brisbane Lions represents. A shared belief that culture drives performance, that people perform best when supported, and that sustainable success comes from preparation and accountability.

At Ray White, we bring the whole team.

Not just to win moments, but to build consistent performance in any market, under any pressure, regardless of the bounce.
