Ray White Springwood sales agent Jas Singh has been flooded with inquiries since the property hit the market, proving in a tight real estate climate, buyers aren't afraid to get their hands dirty - very dirty.

The property, a brick-and-tile home in a quiet, high-quality pocket of Berrinba, has been owner-occupied for years and is set to go under the hammer on Saturday, 7 March.

With the elderly owner now in care and her son having resided there, the home is being sold in its raw, “as-is” state.

This includes a yard overflowing with discarded items and an interior that challenges even the most seasoned renovators.

“The phone hasn’t stopped ringing,” Mr Singh said.

“We are taking buyers through exactly as it is. We aren't hiding anything.”

“When you walk into the garage, you’re hit with a very interesting smell and a fridge full of maggots, but for the right buyer, that’s just the smell of opportunity.”

Despite the shocking aesthetic, the home holds significant appeal, Mr Singh said.

“While there are holes in almost every internal wall and potential termite damage in one isolated section, the home remains structurally sound - it has solid bones.”

He said there were some moisture issues in the garage, providing a clear project for those looking to add immediate value.

“The transparency of the campaign has attracted specific types of buyer,” Mr Singh said.

“The interest has been dominated by professional flippers, builders, and brave renovators, though a surprising number of first-home buyers are also circling.

“Most buyers know exactly what they are walking into before they arrive.

“They see past the hoarding and the maggots. They see a brick house in a great street that just needs someone to breathe life back into it.”

The level of interest is reflected in the numbers, with double-digit registered bidders already expected for the upcoming sale.
