A four-bedroom, two-bathroom home known to locals as the ‘Masterpiece of Colyton’ is on the market, featuring a stunning renovation that has earned it a revered reputation.

Sitting on 696 square metres, the property features manicured gardens, a two-week-old bathroom, triple lockup garage and carport for two cars, according to selling agent, Sid Elias from Ray White Colyton.

“Everyone in the community knows what the Maddens have done to the property,” Mr Elias said, adding that there is not a cent to be spent and he has already received offers from locals.

Vendor, Krystal Madden said that when she and her husband, Dean Madden, a local tradesman, purchased the property 11 years the house was essentially derelict.

“It took us three months just to get it liveable,” she said.

“When we had the bank come to value it recently, he was sitting outside checking his records because he didn’t think he had the right place.”

“Everything looks brand new now. The bathroom was just redone with floor-to-ceiling tiles, we have replaced the floors, windows, roof and fences.”

“We re-gyprocked and re-cladded and put in the pool and entertaining area,” Ms Madden said, adding that they opted for high quality and have also created beautiful gardens.

Asked why they chose to buy this property and invest so heavily, she said it was the size of the block that appealed.

“It is very rare in this area to have a block of this size. We have a boat, an excavator, a triple garage, a pool and shed, side access and an entertaining area. We have the great Aussie dream.”

“The entertaining area is like an extension of the house. It has a real roof with downlights and a surround sound system that all integrates with the pool,” she added.

Speaking of the home office, Ms Madden said it is connected to the garage, is air conditioned and features floating timber floors, a built-in desk, cable internet and telephone.

Mr Elias said there is plenty of interest in the property because it does not require any work to be done.

“Not a cent. Not a nail. Not a screw. Not a wall to be painted.”

“Also, it’s almost impossible to get a triple car garage approved by council. I don’t know how they did it.”

He added that Colyton is an increasingly popular suburb in western suburbs.

“A lot of young families like the Maddens are moving in and making great changes to their homes,” he said.

“Colyton is just off is just off the M7 and M5. It is moments away from St Marys station and two local shopping centres and has excellent local schools.”

16 Parkin Rd Colyton is for sale by auction on Saturday 23 July 2016. For more information contact Sid Elias from Ray White Colyton on 0410 404 414 | sid.elias@raywhite.com
