Downsizing in Beecroft is increasingly providing younger generations with the opportunity to secure a property in the sought-after suburb, as reflected by this five-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom deceased estate.

Ray White Beecroft’s Douglas Macarthur said that although a changing of the guard is occurring, stock in the suburb remains low, creating high demand for properties like 3 Albert Road.

The two-storey, full double-brick house sits on 916 square metres in one of the widest streets in Beecroft and also includes a fully self-contained granny flat with separate access, a very rare combination.

“I am getting quite a few families coming into the suburb that really like the granny flat option,” said Macarthur.

“People also love the high ceilings throughout which provide a great sense of space,” he said, adding that the house is in original condition with the potential for renovation.

Other features include a lock-up-garage and carport, a balcony with northern aspect, fireplace, air-conditioning, gas kitchen and a large lounge room.

Macarthur said homes like this were highly sought-after and he had already received plenty of interest.

“There are 22 properties currently on the market in Beecroft and Cheltenham, which is very skinny,” he said, adding that new units are being built for downsizing locals who want to stay in the suburb.

“I expect that there will be a greater supply of houses when the units are completed around September, which is good as we have plenty of buyers ready to go.”

For those that don’t want to wait, he said 3 Albert Road would be a great buy.

“It’s close to the shopping centre and walking distance to schools, Beecroft station and nearby buses travelling throughout Sydney. And the M2 is about two kilometres away.”

Macarthur added that families are particularly attracted to the area because it includes so many well-regarded schools, including Cheltenham Girls, Epping Boys, James Ruse, Loreto, Kings, Tara, Barker and Knox.

“Despite its central location, Beecroft has quite a country feel to it – there are a lot of smaller shops and everyone knows each other,” Macarthur said.

The property will go to auction on 30 July. For inspection times contact douglas.macarthur@raywhite.com | 0408 817 239
