The Block: All Stars is slowly coming to a close, with less than a week left for the four teams to complete their living rooms and the exterior of the properties.
Newlyweds Josh and Jenna are trying to do as much as they can themselves, as budget restraints are ensuring that money has to be spent wisely. Josh is looking to develop an outdoor kitchen area and barbeque for the deck, and has constructed a wooden bench top, upon which tiles will be laid to give it that authentic cooking feeling.
The couple has regularly said they are looking to maximise value in order to sell their piece of real estate for the highest amount, with Josh telling ninemsn that he has every confidence in their real estate agent.
Tradie Duncan and his new teammate Dale have been quite fortuitous of late, after winning $7,000 in a recent challenge - ensuring that their backyard and exterior will be of top quality. Not only is Dale a landscaper, but by winning the challenge they also scored two assistants from Mitre 10 to help with painting and landscaping.
Mum and dad duo Phil and Amity are having trouble finishing off their living room, with simple mistakes costing them time. Their large cathedral ceiling was intended to be a feature piece - a point of difference that sought to bolster their auction results. Unfortunately, Phil failed to paint the ceiling the same colour as the adjoining mezzanine, meaning they either had to repaint the huge area, or simply change the mezzanine's colour, of which they were quite fond.
Their builder Brad also struck a problem when one of his backyard projects accidently encroached into the neighbour's property, meaning that they lost precious hours rectifying the issue.
Boyfriend and girlfriend team Dan and Dani have been utilising time wisely by devising ways to add a touch of difference to their property. The beachy lifestyle of Bondi has inspired Dani to insist that an outdoor shower is installed in the backyard, an innovative concept that means sand won't be trekked into the house after an outing to the beach.
The four teams still have a lot to do, because not only must they complete their living room and backyard, but ensure the whole exterior of the properties are totally renovated before the final judging on Sunday.
