The Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) has announced that the world president of FIABCI (International Real Estate Federation), will visit Melbourne next week.

Judy Shenefield will tour Melbourne from October 14th to 19th and see what local agents are doing in the area and how sales are going in an economic climate like Australia.

REIV president Trevor Booth says he and his institute are excited to host Shenefield.

"October is a very busy time for real estate in Victoria, with the spring selling season underway. This will allow Ms Shenefield to see the local market in action," he said.

Her visit comes as more than 100 agents across Brisbane will gather in the heart of the city for the annual Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) Commercial and Industrial luncheon on October 19.

The sunshine state's best of the best will gather to hear what's happening with the economy that will affect the Australian real estate industry as well as any initiatives for the public sector that will affect tourism and the property sector.

A senior economist from Macquarie Bank will address the luncheon to highlight what lies ahead for the property industry from an economic perspective.
