RAY White South Morang Sales Agent and Auctioneer Steve Gruevski has defied all the doom and gloom predictions by smashing the suburb record for a three-bedroom property in the Melbourne suburb of Mernda.

Mr Gruevski successfully navigated all the imposed COVID-19 restrictions and was able to seal a $740,000 deal for the delightful family property at 77 Waterview Drive.

“We had a really positive response throughout the campaign and in the space of just two weeks we had 12 private inspections and received three offers,” he said.

“Given the current climate and the perceived negativity around property prices – being able to achieve a suburb record is quite an achievement.

“Buyers who are finance-ready and are in a position to buy are really pushing hard to secure their properties due to the current stock constraints.

“The vendors had purchased the land for $197,000 ten years ago and built this beautifully well-kept home – and the time has now come for them to downsize.

“We put a closing date on offers to be received so it was almost like a silent auction. The lucky buyers were a young couple living in Plenty and working nearby.

“We see it time and time again that in any marketplace, whether it’s a buyers or sellers market, the right property will always sell well.

“This is a good example of how real estate really is an essential service and the market will remain active to a certain extent no matter what is happening externally.”
