BRISBANE’S iconic and famous trophy home called Balaam at 33B Harbour Rd, Hamilton has been sold by Matt Lancashire of Ray White New Farm - again!
Balaam, the iconic Harbour Road house in the inner-northern Brisbane suburb of Hamilton, has been sold, once again through the top agent in the river city.
Last time Mr Lancashire sold the headline-making Balaam in 2015 when it topped the biggest residential property price in Brisbane for circa $12 million.
The property received countless accolades from both the architecture and construction industry since its completion in 2007.
The award-winning residence – designed by Shaun Lockyer – was one of the most expensive houses built (and later extended) on the Brisbane River at the time.
“It was built pre-GFC (global financial crisis) and no expense was spared. I have been lucky enough to sell Balaam not once but twice now,” Mr Lancashire said.
A local Brisbane-based commercial developer has now bought the property and Mr Lancashire refused to comment on the price as his clients have requested privacy.
Mr Lancashire did however make comment that another circa $10 million sale has been finalised and will be announced in the coming days.
The sale of Balaam follows the recent settlement of the classic landmark Windermere 14 Sutherland Avenue, Ascot which settled this week for $13.5 million.
This concludes a trifecta of landmark sales for Mr Lancashire totalling more than $30 million.
“Make no mistake, these sales are all statements of confidence in south east Queensland. The prestige market in Brisbane is on fire and with good reason,” he said.
Balaam is one of only five riverfront properties in Hamilton. The house next door is owned by active-wear entrepreneur Lorna Jane Clarkson.
