THE Ray White Coastal Living Network of eight offices and 80 agents is gearing up for the largest auction event held on the Sunshine Coast.

More than 500 people are expected to attend the Auction Event at Mercedes Benz Sunshine Coast this Sunday, September 23 from 9am.

Around $33 million worth of property will go under the hammer featuring a diverse range of 65 homes, apartments and vacant land listed by Ray White Noosa, Ray White Noosa River, Ray White Maroochydore, Ray White Buderim, Ray White Mooloolaba, Ray White Kawana, Ray White Sippy Downs and Ray White Nambour.

“Every year in September we hold this event and the community is very familiar with its success,” Ray White Mooloolaba|Kawana director James Goldsworthy said.

“We have a lot of great engagement with locals and all buyers know well in advance that the event is coming up.”

The 2017 event included 44 auctions, with 90 per cent of those properties selling for a cumulative total of more than $18 million.

“We’re expecting to have another successful year and we know that the activity that’s done over a four week period will result in a positive outcome, whether that be on the day, before or shortly after,” Mr Goldsworthy said.

“We’re also conscious that our teams just keep getting better and better at the way they manage the event.”

Experienced auctioneers Haesley Cush and Dan Sowden will call for opening bids at 10am.

“September is a great time to be selling and our owners want to take advantage of that,” Mr Goldsworthy said.

“Buyers want to get in before Christmas and sellers want to have their real estate affairs tidied up before the year ends, so the Auction Event presents a prime opportunity.”

Mr Goldsworthy said the first property booked in to go under the hammer at the Auction Event was confirmed back in March.

“We’ve got a really strong auction presence here on the coast so those owners looking to sell via auction know we’re the market leaders in this space. This is by far the biggest auction event in the region and buyers and sellers typically wait for it so there is a genuine desire to be involved. It’s also a true reflection of the strength of our network.”

Mr Goldsworthy is taking a new designer home at 56 Parkway Drive, Mooloolaba (above) to auction at The Event.

“Brand new houses in Mooloolaba are rare, they just don’t come up for sale all that often,” he said.

“The block of land the four-bedroom house was only recently built on had been held by the same owners for 27 years and now it’s a beautiful new house in a key lifestyle position.”

Other highlights on the day will include the auction of an acreage property at Maroochy River owned by former Australian professional tennis player Mark Kratzmann and listed by Ray White Maroochydore’s Jason Mills.

While Ray White Noosa principal Justin Sykes is expecting plenty of investor interest at the auction of a top level apartment on Noosa Hill, just 400m from Hastings St.
