Peter Diamantidis is one of the country’s top agents. He sold 219 properties last financial year which is five times more than the average agent.
The award-winning agent achieved the staggeringly high volume without any help from a sales associate and in a market without a “bay or beach in sight”.
Based in Sydney’s western suburbs, Peter Diamantidis is undeniably one of Australia’s busiest and best performing real estate agents.
Having worked in the St Marys region since he moved into the industry from school at the tender age of 15, the now 34 year old quickly moved from the clerical team to property management before moving into sales.
Now, together with his wife Mary Diamantidis and new sales associate Amber Boumelhem, the gun agent has now joined forces with Australia’s largest property group to fulfil his ambitions of business ownership. Today they open Ray White St Marys - Diamantidis Group.
“So many agents went to sleep during the pandemic but I doubled down and went from selling 150 homes a year to 219 homes, my biggest year ever. So this year is all about moving into business ownership and mentoring my own team. I am so excited about the future at Ray White,” Mr Diamantidis said.
“I love western Sydney, this is my heartland. I grew up in Mt Druitt and I know the area like the back of my hand.”
Mr Diamantidis was attracted to Ray White’s innovative nature, first class marketing and family values that have lasted four generations and counting.
“Family business is key. My wife Mary and I are a family business too.”
The self-starter was never given a blueprint for success; he made his own way.
“I am originally from Mt Druitt and I worked from the age of 15. On my 18th birthday I bought my first property as no-one would give me a loan before then! So at age 18 I was on the property ladder and at one stage I had 21 properties, and I have done a lot of developments, so all up I have bought and sold 50 properties of my own,” he said.
“I know so many agents who gave up in 2020 and who were sitting around in the PJs until midday. But not me. I made a lot of calls, I listened to people, I found solutions and I worked hard for my clients. I work just as hard if a house is worth $400,000 or $2.4 million, as that is my work ethic.”
On average, it takes just 17 days for Mr Diamantidis to sell a property. He sells to a variety of buyers but he believes first home buyers and developers are the most active in the market right now.
“I work around the clock to service my sellers. Winning awards is nice but that’s not my motivation. I want to build an award-winning team, and that is what I am striving for now.”
Ray White NSW CEO Andrew McCulloch said Peter Diamantidis was a part of the new wave of high performing young agents joining the group.
“We work with each principal to develop a business plan unique to the business they are trying to grow. We firmly see ourselves as partners, not franchisors, and this collaborative approach is very attractive to the next generation of business owners,” Mr McCulloch said.
“We are progressive and support their ambitions. We really have become a brand of attraction here in New South Wales for this style of agent.”
Ray White Group Managing Director Dan White said it was always a compliment when top agents such as Mr Diamantidis joined the group started by his great-grandfather in 1902.
“Our core purpose has always been to provide the best environment for our agents and businesses to thrive and prosper in.
“I think 2021 is going to be an even bigger year for our whole group.”
