Absolute waterfront property at Minnamurra near Kiama on the NSW south coast is proving to be one of the state’s real estate hot spots.
Ray White Kiama sold two multi-million dollar homes at Charles Avenue, Minnamurra, on the same day in a sign that an area that was once a well-kept secret has been well and truly discovered by Sydney and Canberra buyers.
Despite a rainy week, almost 100 people attended the on-site auction last Saturday of an original cottage on a 765 sqm block at 110 Charles Avenue, Minnamurra, with the riverfront property, marketed by Gail Connellan, selling under the hammer for $2,030,000.
On the same day a master built home at 76 Charles Avenue, Minnamurra, marketed by Rob Havasi, was sold for an undisclosed sum that is believed to be a record price for Minnamurra.
Ray White Kiama Director Michele Lay said she also sold a cottage at 148 Charles Avenue, Minnamurra, for $2,045,000.
“Minnamurra is one of the most beautiful places on the south coast and many homes along the Minnamurra River look out on to the sandy beach, Rangoon Island and the Pacific Ocean,” Ms Lay said.
“It has been a tightly held precinct and a well-kept secret – until now.
“We have had a number of waterfront properties in the village come on the market this year and they have been swooped on.”
Ms Lay said there is still an opportunity to buy into the precinct with an exclusive waterfront three-bedroom villa overlooking the stunning Rangoon Island and Mystics Beach at 5/154 Charles Avenue, Minnamurra, for sale for offers over $2 million.
Minnamurra Village is the fastest capital growth precinct in the Kiama Local Government Area.
“Minnamurra has quickly become renowned for its chic coastal village atmosphere which is an easy city escape from Sydney or Canberra,” Ms Lay said.
“It’s only a 90 minute drive from Sydney so people want to buy a weekend getaway or some plan to live at Minnamurra and commute.”
