A Bilpin Bed and Breakfast, comprising of three timber cottages has been put on the market for the first time in 10 years with Justine Popple of Ray White Kurrajong and a price guide of $1.5million - $1.9million.
Just over an hour drive from Sydney CBD, this 19.5 acre property in the Hawkesbury runs as a fully established bed and breakfast, and yoga retreat.
Owners Alan and Brenda McCartney were inspired to create this property with a focus on health, after a trip to Europe.
“It was such a revelation to move out to the country. The air is so cool and crisp, and even though it is so close to the CBD, it is just so different,” said Alan.
He added that the three cottages are booked out almost every weekend, and their biggest clientele are couples from Sydney.
“We have seen an endless amount of proposals in our time here, there is a little bit of romance to the place,” he said.
Alan said that unlike Sydney, Bilpin gets all four seasons a year, with autumn being the most special.
“We actually get a real autumn, leaves fall off trees and it is so beautiful. We have to keep asking ourselves, ‘are we sure we want to do this?’”
Alan and Brenda hope the next owners will be as passionate as they are about the property.
“We hope those who take on our B&B aspire to take it to the next level, we would love to see it continue and grow,” he said.
The pair have decided that since their children are now fully grown it is time for them to try something new.
“We don’t know what is next for us, and that is part of the fun,” said Alan.
You can catch the property featured in an upcoming episode of Network Ten’s ‘The Living Room’ with Miguel Maestre.
