Winning six design awards for a $1.2m Chris Clout renovation, a luxurious beachside home is on the market.

A positive sign for the 2015 Noosa property market, the five bedroom, three bathroom home will go to auction on 31 January 2015 through Alex Harris of Ray White Noosa.

“The renovations were completed in 2009 and in 2010 the home won six Queensland design awards including best bathroom, best interior design and best renovation,” Alex explains.

“The redesign created a spectacular property with a flexible and functional floorplan, and a new level of luxury living,” she said.

Glen and Jenny Watson purchased the existing home in 2007 for $865,000 and invested an additional $1.2m for the extensive renovations.

“We bought for the location and proximity to the beach, but having stayed at beautiful resorts around the Pacific, we wanted to have that relaxed luxury synonymous with a 5-star island resort at home,” Mr Watson explains.

“We love the way the home is integrated with the pool as centrepiece, and how a whole side of the home opens up to celebrate and enhance Queensland's tropical lifestyle with the fusion of indoor and outdoor living,” he said.

Dubbed one of the best in the country by Australia's Best Beach Houses and Best Abodes magazines, the property, now a popular holiday home called Salt & Sand, returns $100,000 annually from holiday lettings.

“Buyers have the option of keeping the property as a holiday rental for an ongoing passive income, or keeping it to themselves” Alex said.

Sitting on a level block overlooking Castaways beach in one of Australia's most coveted holiday destinations, the property features floor to ceiling glass doors, a 20m saltwater pool, white water views, tropical gardens and open plan living.

Located at 2 Wavecrest Drive, Castaways Beach, the property goes under the hammer onsite at 2pm on 31 January 2015.
