The trends, features
and suburbs defining
luxury in 2026

The tenure inside our network. The connectivity between people. The genuine willingness to see others win. These are the qualities that have stood out most since he stepped into the role and they're not things you can manufacture or import from a competitor playbook.

"This is definitely something I have seen shine from our network," Thomas said.

What strikes him just as much is the mindset that runs through every level of the business, from the newest agents finding their feet to the Chairman's Elite businesses at the pinnacle of the game. There is no version of Ray White where ambition belongs only to the people at the top.

"The entrepreneur spirit is alive here, among all levels," he said. "Everyone has a continuous improvement mindset, and that is the thing that excites me the most."

He's also been confronted by something the network may have stopped noticing about itself.

The depth of experience inside Ray White, the people who have spent years, even decades, building their businesses within the group, represents an extraordinary and largely untapped resource. Knowledge accumulated over long careers. Lessons learned the hard way. A living library of what works, sitting largely uncatalogued.

"There is a massive opportunity to learn from the people with long tenure," Thomas said. "It is absolutely amazing and we have become complacent and possibly desensitised to the great things we do as a collective network."

That includes the events, the tools, the platforms Ray White puts in front of its members, world-class by any measure, and yet not always engaged with as deeply as they could be. Thomas sees closing that gap as one of his most important tasks.

His answer is a shift in mindset, not just a shift in programming. He wants to see people approach their careers the way a start-up founder approaches a new business.

Stay hungry, and curious, never assuming the current way is the best way.

"It's so important to have a continuous development mindset," he said. "You need a start-up mentality and be hungry to improve and always stay curious."

He's also watching a broader trend in the industry with interest and some concern. As competition intensifies and expectations rise, there is a temptation for individuals to pull inward, to go it alone, to benchmark themselves against their own results rather than lift the people around them. Thomas believes that instinct has to be resisted.

"As things get more competitive, I have noticed more people move in a direction where individuals try to go alone."

"We have to resist that. Stronger together, no matter what.”

It's a philosophy he sums up simply: high performance is personal, but great performance is collective.

For a network built on the strength of its people and the depth of its relationships, it's a message that lands close to home.

Thomas has worked across most Australian markets with a range of national groups and independents in both corporate and operating roles. Most recently, he was CEO and Partner of the Bresic Whitney Group, one of Sydney's most successful independent real estate businesses. He is President of the Real Estate Institute of New South Wales, a sought-after property commentator, panellist and guest speaker, and one of the most recognised thought leaders in the industry.

Dan White said Thomas was one of the most respected minds in Australian real estate.

“He thinks deeply about leadership, professional standards and what it takes to build a great business. These things are fundamental to our ambition and value offering to our members,” he said.

‘We are thrilled that Thomas has chosen to join us. He brings a unique set of experiences, unquestionable enthusiasm, and a belief that our best days are well ahead of us.”
