Beautiful Bingil Bay, Mission Beach, has a rich and long history being the place where the Cutten Family farmed 4000 acres from the late 1800s.

Bingil Bay Beach House is only 200m or so from the original Cutten family "Bicton" homestead.

It sits where the Cutten brothers' mango orchard once stood and there are still a few of the 130 year old mango trees in the neighbourhood!

Bingil Bay is 1 3/4 hours south of Cairns Domestic /International Airport along National Highway 1.

It is a land of stunning vistas spanning the rainforests, mountains and waterfalls of the World Heritage listed Wet Tropics to the World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef - one of the few places where the rainforest meets the reef.

Wildlife includes vibrant butterflies, the beautiful striped possum and many colourful bird species. Top of the list for birdwatchers from around the world is the spectacular endangered Cassowary, a bird that's lived here for 30 million years and gives its name to the Cassowary Coast region.

The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park begins just metres off the beach at Bingil Bay.

There are vast nearby coral reefs (King Reef) and many lush tropical islands
(Barnard Islands).

The renowned Family Islands, 12 in all, including Dunk and celebrity-hosting Bedarra, are a little to the south.

The Clump Point Boating Harbour and the Mission Beach Tourist Village are literally a few minutes away.
