Located at 128 Montague Street, the property is being marketed by Ray White Mount Waverley agent Jacob Biviano on behalf of the seller, Yuki Huang.

When Ms Huang first bought the property in 2021, she had a vision in mind.

“When we first purchased it I knew I wanted to do some creative stuff as part of the renovation,” she said.

“It’s close to South Melbourne Market and we wanted the renovation to fit that design and culture.”

Ms Huang said there’s 16 different colours used throughout the design of the home.

“When doing the renovation I wanted people to walk in and remember where they were staying so I had the idea for the mural,” she said.

“I was looking at pictures online and I liked the design of the woman with no face.

“An artist friend of mine actually hand painted it for me.”

All the rooms in the cottage received a renovation, while maintaining a lot of the property’s character.

The property has been a popular AirBnB for the last few years.

“I really love the living room, and the bathroom,” Ms Huang said.

“We also put some plants in at the back. It’s a really cosy spot.”

Mr Biviano said the property was in a mixed-use zone and was surrounded by commercial properties.

“It’s a really lovely spot of South Melbourne despite being on a main road,” he said.

“It would really suit a first home buyer, young couple, or investor.

“It’s surprisingly not heritage, and has Capital City Zoning meaning it can allow for multi-storey development and commercial uses too.”

The property has a price guide of $738,000-$778,000.
