It was not just about the number of beds; it was about the feeling of togetherness at 19 De Guichen Drive, Robe.

Now listed for sale, the property is being marketed by Ray White Gambier principal Tahlia Gabrielli with expressions of interest by 13 May.

The property has a price guide of $1 million plus.

The Andersons described the four-bedroom, two-bathroom property as a one that blends bold modern aesthetics with a “warm and soul-filled” farmhouse heart.

Completed in January last year, the home was originally a vacant block the couple had walked through multiple times.

Mr Anderson, a skilled carpenter, and Mrs Anderson, an interior design enthusiast, set out to build a sanctuary specifically designed for multi-generational groups - a place where parents, aunts, uncles, and grandparents could gather comfortably under one roof.

“We’ve been coming to Robe for over a decade, and we pulled out all the parts of Airbnbs we liked and combined them here,” Mrs Anderson said.

“I have an absolute love for interiors that feel like home. We wanted that farmhouse

undertone because it gives a nod to family time - warm, cozy, and filled with natural light.”

The home’s exterior is a striking individualist statement in black, designed to stand out while honouring the rugged beauty of the coast, Mrs Anderson said.

The entrance is framed by the history of the region, featuring massive recycled hardwood bridge pier timbers - a nod to Mr Anderson’s obsession with high-quality, sustainable timber craftsmanship.

Inside, the “modern farmhouse” aesthetic takes center stage.

The couple prioritised natural materials and light-drenched spaces, ensuring the home felt lived-in from day one.

As owners of Harley, a two-year-old labradoodle, the Andersons ensured the property was truly dog-friendly - a rarity they often struggled to find during their own travels with children Owen (7) and Claire (5).

While the intention was to keep the home long-term, the building bug has bitten the duo once again.

“Creating this home was a labor of love, and now we want to take everything we’ve learned and do it all over again,” Mrs Anderson said.

Following the successful renovation of multiple Airbnbs and their love for the process, the Andersons are ready to find their next project in the Robe or Mt Gambier surrounds.
