Marketed by Ray White Collective sales agent Meaghan Bakker, the property at 66 Hamilton Road Moorooka is uniquely free of character overlays despite its heritage aesthetic.

The five-bedroom, one-bathroom property holds existing approvals for both residential and commercial use and goes to auction on 16 May at 9am.

Situated across two 10-metre frontage lots, the site offers a rare “blank canvas” opportunity just 9km from the Brisbane CBD.

Brisbane couple Clare and Damon Joseph originally purchased the property in 2017 to house a specialised counseling and pastoral education business however have made the decision to downsize and move toward the inner city.

“The gates are now open for a visionary buyer to transform the structure into a breathtaking residence or to capitalise on the LMR zoning by exploring a multi-dwelling development (STCA),” Ms Joseph said.

Ms Joseph said the building’s soaring architecture and voluminous interiors have served as a peaceful professional hub.

The Josephs have meticulously preserved original elements found tucked away beneath the floorboards, integrating the church’s history into the modern workspace.

“From a kneeling pew repurposed as a room divider to a hidden storage space beneath the stage - reminiscent of a wine cellar - the building is rich with niche features that would make for an incomparable luxury home,” Ms Joseph said.

“The general vibe of the place is simply breathtaking.

“The height of the ceilings and the sheer feeling of the space drew us in immediately.

“When we took over, we found so many original treasures hidden under the house, including a spiral staircase just waiting to be repurposed.

“We even kept the original kneeling pew and used it to define the office space.”

Ms Joseph said one of the home’s previous owners had even converted the stage into a bedroom.

“It’s been a wonderful home for our business and our work with children, but it’s time for someone else to realise the full potential of this incredible building,” she said.
