The event brought together principals, property managers, administrators and sales agents for a full day of leadership insights, high-performance strategies, and inspiring personal stories from some of the club’s most respected figures.

The morning session saw attendees hear from former club captain Tom Jonas, who shared reflections on his leadership journey. Mr Jonas also hosted a mindfulness and high-performance panel alongside clinical psychologist Jess Paterson and Director of Athletic Performance Tim Parham, focusing on resilience, mindset, and sustained performance. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A featuring General Manager Commercial and Partnerships Adam Thomson.

In the afternoon, sales agents were treated to an energetic start with a performance by magician Matt Tarrant, before splitting into breakout sessions. General Manager - Football Ben Rutten led one session, while current player Sam Powell-Pepper delivered a powerful account of his career journey and anticipated return from double knee injuries.

Sam Powell-Pepper emphasised the importance of resilience, connection, and integrity in leadership.

“Lead by example and do what you say you're going to do,” he said. “Setting small goals and reaching the little milestones gives you the drive to keep going. I'm also very lucky to have access to the wellness coaches and psychologist who have helped a lot.”

“Have the right people around you and be proud of your journey.”

The day continued with former player Shaun Burgoyne, who shared insights from his decorated career, followed by Port Adelaide Football Club CEO Matthew Richardson, who spoke about leadership, culture, and organisational transformation.

Matthew Richardson highlighted the importance of clarity and purpose within teams. “The most important job you’re doing is the one you’re doing right now,” he said.

“People become passionate and care deeply about what they do and why they’re doing it when you show them their contribution to the team.”

“Surround yourself with people that are smarter than you, as leadership is when the focus becomes about others, not yourself,” and emphasised the importance of authenticity: “Rather than trying to get everyone to like us, we re-focused on getting the people who already liked us, to love us.”

Attendees described the event as both motivating and impactful. Bianca Denham, principal of Ray White Semaphore, said the experience provided valuable insights and inspiration for her team.

“It was nice to be able to touch and feel the facilities and spend some time with the senior leadership team, as well as hear from some of the stars of the game,” she said.

“I took a lot from Shaun Burgoyne's presentation - he reinforced how hard you need to work to achieve something extraordinary. He expressed great humility and relatability. All of the presentations were to a high standard and the team took away a lot of motivation from the day.”

Matt Lindblom, Ray White State CEO SA & NT said “our aim for the day was to create an event where our network could learn more about high performance, leadership, resilience and team work.”

“There are so many similarities between real estate and professional sport, and we were really pleased to put on this successful event with our long term partner, the Port Adelaide Football Club,” Mr Lindblom said.

“It’s always great to see the collaboration and friendships amongst the group on days like this, one of the greatest strengths of the Ray White network.”
