The RAY WHITE GROUP is holding 407 auctions this week, with 256 of those happening across Australasia this Saturday.

What’s happening in Queensland? It’s like someone opened a can of gorgeousness and all these houses just popped out.

On an absolutely massive block is this (above) most delightful home that has been in the same hands for 40 years. The wide street frontage (30.5m) of 192 Rode Road, Wavell Heights combined with the 1940s architectural features, will hopefully hook a buyer who’s in the mood for a little reno - an enticement being that a second floor would reach amazing views.

Ray White Aspley agent Dwight Colbert said the size of the block (“It’s one of the largest in the area”) has also made it very attractive to developers so a renovation may not be on the cards. Be there from midday to find out which way she blows.

At 10am Ray White Queensland Chief Auctioneer Mitch Peereboom will be calling the shots at the big and beautiful 9 Emma Street, Kalinga.

Five bedrooms, four bathrooms and huge amounts of living spaces (note also the 80sq m master suite!).

Ray White New Farm agent Damon Lewis explains that once upon a time this dream home was in fact five flats - now it is one very large family home that has already been inspected by 108 families with two inspections left til auction day.

There is something intriguing and inviting in the room proportions and layout - and the garden? Sheer delight.

Bought just six years ago by a gentleman who had been raised in the area, the outstanding six bedroom home 218 Gladstone Road, Dutton Park has been largely and superbly renovated, restored and rejuvenated. (pictures above)

In some events ’renovated’ doesn’t really mean all that much, but here, in the heritage listed castle known as Kurrowah, it means a whole lot as does the name of the architect behind it Lange Powell, who was quite simply architecture royalty.

It's so divine we've added another shot. Couldn't help ourselves.

An exceptional property, with six bedrooms on just over 3,000sqm requires a specific kind of buyer. Ray White Annerley property consultant Nathalie Martinsson hopes that such a person will be in the crowd that will be gathering at 10.30am, and a new chapter begun. (hi res images can be found here)

Into Sydney now and the exclusive yet still cool Forest Lodge has a crowd scene booked on Saturday for the Ray White Surry Hills auction of 31 Lodge Street, AKA the Redhead Matches house. (pictured above - if you haven't already worked that out)

Associate director Matthew Carvalho tells us that the three bedroom terrace features artwork of the famed Redhead Matches woman. The quirky Lodge Street piece was created by a friend of former owner Yumi Stynes, who felt there was resemblance between the two famous ladies.

It’s become a bit of an urban legend, and the current owners/vendors have kept it unsullied.

The terrace has a lot more to offer than that and has seen 156 groups through, with Ray White issuing 20 contracts.

Mr Carvalho is expecting it to go off like a cracker, with 10 bidders committed already.

The guide is $1.6 million and the start time for all the fun is 9am! Be early.

Beverly Hills has an interesting one at 11.30am. Listed with Ray White Bexley North is 2 Warrawee Place. (above)

The three bedroom, interwar era house (checkout the heater/fireplace in the bedroom) is pretty much in original condition, and although compact at t 111sqm block, it is in fact two lots on the one title.

Agent Arthur Manos has seen 70 groups through and is certain the quirky corner block will sell on the day.

Mon dieu! The francophiles of Sydney will be keeping an eye on this one, just steps to one of the few bilingual French/English schools in the state. A dead flat block, with a home that is workable but not renovated, about twenty steps from the swimming centre and just a few more to the shops - where a true French pattiserie produces pastries that make grown women weep with guilt.

The neat and tidy 3 Blarney Avenue is listed with Ray White Naraweena’s Brian Fairweather.

With a three o'clock start to the auction, there’s time for a cafe latte, a pastry and a jog before buying up big. Twenty contracts are out, and 100 inspections will have happened by the time the auction comes around.

Officially on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, but a bit up the hill is peaceful Elanora Heights.

For auction on Saturday is 58 Koorangi Avenue, (above) which has the added location advantage of backing onto a large reserve. Voila! (the French thing is hard to shake) instant playground and wildlife at hand.

The home has proved super popular and James Kerley, auctioneer extraordinaire is looking forward to calling this one because it's shaping up to be a beauty. Ray White Warriewood director Paul Franks has had a great hit rate, issuing 15 contracts and a likely seven starters for the 3.30pm start.

To Victoria now and according to Ray White Ferntree Gully agent and auctioneer Matt Morris, you would not recognise 10 Peter Drive, Ferntree Gully as the same home he sold to the current vendors five years ago (above).

The vendors have essentially rebuilt the four bedroom home, and then added on a big new rear section (with lovely garden views) that is more like a conservatory than an ordinary addition.

It’s a lot of house for the guide of $665,000-$730,000, which explains the good interest with 56 groups through so far. It’s an afternoon affair, timed to start at the stroke of 2pm.

Ray White Mill Park’s Marco Riggio has had a big response to 41 Hobson Crescent (above) He’s seen 60 groups through, with the feedback being that folks are really wrapt in the large living spaces, and the great condition of the house.

The three bedder is close to all the must have amenities, and seems to have struck a chord with locals.

Mr Riggio has a guide of between $570-$620,000 and is expecting to see five familiar faces at the auction, no doubt twitching with anticipation from the 3pm start time.

At 11am in Blackburn and people will be gathering to see the auction of a brand new, four bedroom home which also has four separate living spaces - although one doubles as a piano room (above).

While parents will love the luxe finishes, the kids will go crackers for the landscaped garden and play area.

The home at 29 Amery Avenue is with Aaron McDonald of Ray White Forest Hill.

An unusual offering in Adelaide. A fifteen minute drive out of Adelaide's CBD is Mawson Lakes estate; planned as you imagine around a picturesque lake with boardwalk and ducks aplenty (above).

Ray White Mawson Lakes director Marz Harkotsikas reports that this rather grand two storey home has seen a constant stream of inspections, many attracted no doubt by the fact this is a mortgagee sale, which adds a touch of enthusiasm.

The auction is at 79b Shearwater Drive is scheduled to commence at 12.30pm.

Over to Perth and a two minute stroll from the Indian Ocean, a family home with enough space for not just the whole family, but bus loads of uninvited relatives looking for a beach holiday on the cheap.

The floor space of 40 Dilkara Way, City Beach all included, sits around 450sqm, then add on the pool area and the landscaped garden and you have a lovely home which is listed with the West's top agent Vivien Yap of Ray White Dalkeith | Claremont. Hammer time is 10am.
