The stunning property, at 104 Alexandra Road, Ascot, broke a street record, and was built in 1936 as part of a grand estate that has since been subdivided.

Ray White Ascot agent Nick Roche sold the Ascot property to a local buyer who is upsizing.

Mr Roche described the property as a “rare Brisbane treasure”.

“It’s a very spectacular house and there’s plenty to love about it, it’s one of the most remarkable homes not only in Ascot, but in all of Brisbane” Mr Roche said.

Meanwhile, Mr Roche also sold 4 Langside Parade in Hamilton for $8 million to a local buyer.

He said the Hamtilton property had also only been listed for just five days.

Mrs McKie said when she started searching for a new home she was after something with “real character”.

“We wanted established gardens, and a lifestyle property that wasn't necessarily a Queenslander,” Mrs McKie said.

“This property is unique with exceptional street appeal and delivers everything we were looking for and more.”

The four-bedroom five-bathroom home, on a 1275sqm block of land, has several standout features including secure underground parking for four vehicles, plus two additional off-street spaces.

There is a 25-meter lap pool, a pool house positioned above a large underground cellar and cold room, and multiple living zones.

Mrs McKie, a mum-of-two, said the upstairs bedrooms provided plenty of privacy for children or guests.

There is also a smart home automation system which allows remote management from anywhere, including underground water tanks for sustainable irrigation,” she said.

"The infrastructure is remarkable and everything has been thoughtfully designed.”

Mrs McKie said the home was the ultimate entertainer’s paradise.

“We have hosted everything from intimate family gatherings to large-scale events here," Mrs McKie said.

"We're big entertainers. We have had school formal events, birthday parties, and even election parties.”

Mrs McKie said now that their two children had grown up and left home, she was spending more time at their Sunshine Coast beach property.

“The time has come to pass this remarkable residence on,” she said.

"The beauty of this home is its versatility. The property has suited us when our children were very young right through to their teens and early twenties.

“One of my favorite features I have enjoyed is complete privacy, and the ease of one-level living with the private master suite and all the entertaining areas on the ground floor.

“The wellness potential is incredible too - there's room for a yoga studio, art studio space, gym, or home office.”
