Television fishing personality and boating identity Theo Rozakis, his wife Anna and daughter Alexa are selling their waterfront home on one of the largest blocks in the canal estate of Patterson Lakes on Melbourne’s Port Phillip Bay.

The host of Channel One’s River to Reef TV series has listed the home on an approximately 1033 sqm block with its own private beach and boat mooring at 1 Coral Island Court, Patterson Lakes, with Stephen Hill and Genevieve Hill of Ray White Patterson Lakes.

Mr Rozakis, the co-director of MY Marine on the Mornington Peninsula and a board member of the Boating Industry Association of Victoria, said they are selling the four bedroom home to be closer to his business at Dromana on the southern end of the bay.

“We’ve bought a block of land at another canal estate at Martha Cove and we’ll be building a new home there and fortunately for us it will offer the same sort of amazing lifestyle that we have been blessed with at Patterson Lakes,” Mr Rozakis said.

“Fishing and boating is me. I’ve been brought up on it my whole life. It’s been a natural progression for me to end up on a program like River to Reef where I am able to express the joys of catching, cooking and preparing your own fish.”

The Rozakis family have lived in their two-storey home with stunning water views and eco-friendly features such as a 2kw solar panel system since 2006. Theo Rozakis said he first entered one of the canal front homes years earlier and declared: “Oh my God! I have to live here.”

“I’ve been able to take my boat from virtually my office at Dromana and catch a snapper or some calamari on the boat trip home and then cook it for dinner,” he said.

Mr Hill said the corner property in the same street where Australian basketball superstar Andrew Bogut once owned two houses also includes an approximately 400 sqm vacant block which is ready to be developed.

“The vacant land is an opportunity to subdivide or build a tennis court, swimming pool or another dwelling with separate access,” he said.

Mr Hill said the Patterson Lakes canal estate offered a wonderful marine lifestyle opportunity.

“I like to think of it as the Sovereign Islands of the south and I believe it was inspired by the canal estates on the Gold Coast,” he said.

“Residents have the opportunity to live in a beautiful waterfront estate with bird and marine life and have easy access to the bay in your boat.”

Entered via marble-tiled atrium, the Rozakis home has an open plan family and meals area with a chef style kitchen and an adjoining lounge area with a bar and billiards room/living space.

The resort-style backyard has a private al fresco entertaining area and low maintenance landscaped gardens.

1 Coral Island Court is being marketed for sale for offers over $1.8 million.
