Former NRL player and Penrith Panthers assistant coach Trent Barrett has put his South Coast family home in Barrack Point on the market with Ray White Shellharbour Oak Flats Group to make a move to another beachside location - the northern beaches.

Selling agent Amanda Bonnici has been a long time neighbour of Trent, and said the home has a great location nestled amongst the South Coast’s famous golden beaches. The price guide is offers from $2million.

Trent built the property three years ago, after living in the existing house for almost 10 years prior to that.

“We moved down here 12 years ago to Barrack Point and a fair bit has happened since then... but it’s still nice and quiet. It’s a beautiful spot on the beach and has been great for the kids, it’ll be sad to leave,” he said.

One of the personalised contributions to the house Trent will be leaving behind for the new owners is the garden.

“I did all the gardens,” he said.

“The whole backyard is screened in bamboo and there is a heap of banana palms out the back. All the plants that we have put in have taken off and they suit the house. We have a lot of fun in the yard.”

He said the best memories of the house revolve around his four children, who have grown up surfing, paddle boarding and swimming at the beach across the road and riding their bikes on the bike tracks in the area.

“They’re going to miss it, “ he said.

For Trent, one of his favourite things about the house is the view, and having a beer watching the ocean in the late afternoon. He added that the backyard and entire house is perfect for entertaining friends and family - no doubt thanks to his handy work in the garden.

“Whoever buys this house is going to get a lovely home in a lovely spot: it’s good for kids, it’s a perfect holiday house. It would be perfect for lots of things,” he said.

“They’ll enjoy it because there's so much to do yet it’s still quiet. It’s such an easy house to live in.”

According to Trent, the property would make an ideal family home which is perfect for outdoor entertaining.
