Last night's episode of The Block (February 12) saw all four couples trying to figure out how to proceed with their second bedroom - while analysing how to best impress the judges by improving the real estate value.

Some were planning to make the most space out of a study cum bedroom, while others were thinking of designing a kid-friendly room.

All of this was going on while couples were doing their best to plan a kitchen around a heritage chimney which could not be moved or knocked down.

Couples have dedicated a great amount of time working out how to best utilise the kitchen, with Dani spending three hours in a kitchen design store without establishing a proper game plan.

Josh and Jenna were not immune from this and were organising how to best approach the process of maximising kitchen user-friendliness while keeping in line with the heritage code.

Spending hours driving around Sydney, Josh and Jenna shopped for all their small furniture pieces such as bedside tables, lamps and throw rugs.

Their shopping coincided with their workmen completing much of the prep work for the bedroom, which ensured they were in good stead for completing the room on time.
