A Wantirna property sold for $121,000 over reserve at Ray White Ferntree Gully’s latest in-room auctions on 23 October, signalling strength in the local property market.
The three bedroom home at 48 Milpera Crescent, Wantirna sold for $701,000 just 18 months after the vendors purchased the home for $510,000 in February 2012.
Marketed through Chris Watson of Ray White Ferntree Gully, the property was highly contested at auction.
“We had nine people bidding for the property and it was competitive right up to the hammer falling. The result shows that the local market is strong and active buyers are prepared to battle it out to secure quality property,” Chris explains.
Surrounded by gardens and backing Milpera Reserve, Chris says the updated split level home at Milpera Crescent is the perfect family home.
“It offers privacy, space and the floorplan is functional,” he said.
At the same in-room auctions, Chris sold a second property at 8 Glendale Court Boronia $20,000 over reserve for $570,000.
“It was another great auction with ten registered bidders. It’s extremely promising to see strong sales in the area and we expect to see these impressive results continue,” Chris explains.
The complete renovation of the four bedroom home was attractive to buyers, according to Chris.
“The buyers are able to move into a modern, near new home. The ease with which you could transition into the home was very appealing to buyers,” Chris said.
