Spring is in the air at Ray White auctions
With just days until spring, it felt like selling season had come early at Ray White auctions across the country today, with 419 properties scheduled to go under the hammer.
1/1 Sir Claud Gibb Street, North Haven
Sold under the hammer for $618,000
Eight registered bidders, four active
Lead agent: Peter Kikianis - 0417 834 648
Ray White Semaphore
Auctioneer: John Morris, Ray White
The buyer, Milan (pictured above), bought the home for his mum to live in after a renovation.
Milan is no stranger to auctions, having recently sold his own home via auction.
“This was the first house I saw after I sold my house and I really liked it. I really liked John as an auctioneer. I liked his interaction with the people and the way he gave everyone a lot of time to bid.
“I was very happy to have landed the winning bid. The house has a very warm energy.
“I understand the premise of auctions and had no problem buying at auction. The buyer might get lucky on the day and get a better price than they expected, or the seller might get more for their home depending on how much people want to bid.”
Sold under the hammer for $1.41 million
16 registered bidders, six active
Lead agent: Brandon Pilgrim - 0438 807 061
Ray White Burnside
Auctioneer: George Kargiotis, Ray White
“The buyers (pictured above) were a family who moved from Sydney to purchase their first home in South Australia. The majority of bidders were young families,” Mr Pilgrim said.
The sellers, Rita and John, had relocated to Victor Harbor for a tree-change.
Sold under the hammer for $797,000
Seven registered bidders, three active
Lead agent: Oliver Bishop - 0478 419 999
Ray White Norwood
Auctioneer: Damian Macolino, Ray White
“The winning bid went to a first home buyer. This was also the sellers’ first home and they are now upsizing,” Mr Bishop said.
“It’s a two-bedroom, one-bathroom home with Torrens’ title, so it attracted a lot of first home buyers and investors.”
The buyer, Rachael, was excited to finally purchase her first home.
“This was my first auction but I’d been looking for a few months,” she said.
“The home had a lot of character and felt homely. Torrens' title was really appealing as well. Plus the location is lovely and in good proximity to the city.
“I was nervous about the auction, but I knew my limit and I knew if I didn't get it there would be another home.
“This agent and auctioneer were really friendly and nice to deal with.”
Sold under the hammer for $1.451 million
18 registered bidders, six active
Lead agent: Marco Lai - 0433 733 368
Ray White Adelaide City
Auctioneer: John Morris
Sold under the hammer for $1.07 million
12 registered bidders, five active
Lead agent: Nick Borrelli - 0432 270 893
Ray White Campbelltown
“A nice young family bought it, their parents were bidding on their behalf,” Mr Borrelli said.
“The sellers were a family who had moved interstate to Brisbane, they had tried selling previously with another agency as a private treaty sale but it didn’t sell. So they put it back on the market with us as an auction, and we achieved a great result.
“Hopefully we’ll see some more properties coming to market in spring as the buyer demand is really strong. I think it’ll be a buoyant final quarter for the Adelaide market.”
