Flipping Homes Australia’s Chris Bye bought the property at 12 Tungarra Parade, Macmasters Beach, in March and transformed it into a multi-million-dollar five-bedroom four-bathroom home - in just six months.

One of his biggest projects to date, the carpenter-turned-houseflipper said the property originally had three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and was set on a 594sqm block of land.

Ray White Bensville | Empire Bay director Matthew Kidd said Mr Bye had unlocked extraordinary value while preserving the charm of the beachside cottage.

The property is set to go under the hammer on 13 December.

Mr Bye said he loved McMasters Beach and was known for building and renovating homes built in the 1970s to 2000s to create “stunners” with the budget he had.

“When we do these projects, we always try to add massive value to the property,” he said.

"This 1930s original cottage, which had been renovated in the 70s, presented a unique opportunity.

“We could see the potential to create something truly special without changing the property’s footprint.

“We look for properties with dated formal dining rooms and classic laundries - spaces that modern buyers don't want - and transform them into open-plan living areas and additional bathrooms that today's families need."

Mr Bye said the renovation balanced heritage charm with contemporary luxury.

He said original architectural drawings were found tucked away in a wall during the demolition, providing invaluable insight into the home's heritage.

“The iconic bullnose roof over the front entrance was carefully retained, maintaining the home's street appeal and period character,” he said.

“However, step inside and you'll discover that nothing remains of the original interior except the four walls - every element has been thoughtfully rebuilt in the original cottage style.”

He said extensive landscaping work was required to level both the front and rear gardens, addressing significant site challenges.

Mr Bye said the property which featured open-plan living spaces and a Tasmanian oak kitchen and interior would appeal to buyers looking for a beach home with all the modern conveniences.

"It's the perfect blend of character and contemporary living, in one of the Central Coast's most desirable beachside locations."
