THERE is a new leader behind the long time family-owned business at Ray White Dural in Sydney’s north-west.
Renee Laing will take the reins from the locally loved Sandra Ward, who has run the business for more than 32 years and will stay on in the business as a sales agent. Mrs Laing has a wealth of experience in all facets of the industry since she started at the tender age of 18, and has worked within the Ray White Dural business since February this year.
“I did some work experience in real estate when I was 16, and the rest was history!” Ms Laing said.
“I am so passionate about the industry and I would never want to do anything else, which is why I have been involved in real estate for so long.”
Mrs Laing said the small team always had a focus on providing the local Dural community with expert advice and service.
“In my team is Sandra Ward and our office manager Renee Giorgiutti; we work so well together, and most importantly, we get the job done,” she said.
Renee has known Sandra Ward for a lifetime of living in the Hills District and their communication over the past few years regarding Sandra’s plans to step back into a sales agent role, Renee Laing knew that it was the perfect time to make her next career progression into business ownership whilst Sandra can continue to do what she knows and loves in the sales side.
“While this experience of moving into business ownership has come at an interesting time in the middle of a pandemic, I have received such fantastic support from the corporate NSW team while I learn the ropes,” she said.
“I believe we have the drive, determination and relationships in the area to obtain the market share and provide wonderful service to our local community,” she said.
Dural is part of Sydney’s Hills District, about 35km from the CBD. The area is popular with sydney-siders wanting a more rural lifestyle while not compromising on convenience.
“I personally love Dural and have lived here my whole life; I grew up with acreage and horses and the relaxed country lifestyle,” Mrs Laing said.
Mrs Laing has loved the area so much in fact, that she has raised her own four children in Dural.
“My eldest is 24 years old and my youngest is five, so it has been a busy couple of years! But it has been the perfect place to raise a family” she said.
Renee said that there has been a big increase in families moving out to the Hills District since before Covid even hit, and that they are lucky enough to be in an area always in demand.
“Families want some space for their kids to ride motorbikes, the ability to keep animals, or just the fresh air,” she said.
“We live in a fantastic neighborhood; I know lots of people through school days and growing up here, and the community has supported me so well and I am looking forward to continuing to support them.”
Mrs Laing said that the main goal for their team under her new leadership was to engage an office manager, embrace all the Ray White technology and marketing initiatives and to grow the property management business.
Ray White NSW CEO Andrew McCulloch said he was thrilled to see Renee Laing step up into a leadership role in the Ray White Dural business.
“We are very pleased to welcome Renee into business ownership, a leader who already exemplifies the qualities we look for in our franchisees at Ray White” Mr McCulloch said.
“We look forward to supporting her and her ambitions, and we congratulate Sandy Ward who has handed over a business that we are very proud of,” he said.
