Ray White Balwyn director Helen Yan was almost speechless when she heard that she’d been named as the top female agent in Australia for the fourth year in a row.
The unstoppable Helen Yan has once again taken out the top place for her sales dominance in the REB Top 50 Women in Real Estate ranking for 2019.
According to REB, Helen Yan’s average sale price was $2.39 million, and she listed 150 properties last year, and sold 83 of them for a combined value $194,172,948. Her average days on market are an enviable 37 days and she has one staff member to help her.
The awards were established by REB four years ago as the performance benchmark for female agents in the country.
The ranking celebrates the industry’s leading women and recognises their contribution to the elite performance standards the industry demands of its top achievers.
“It’s such an honour to win this award again. I am truly humbled and it feels especially gratifying to be acknowledged for all the hard work we have done in this market. I am blessed to have such tremendous support in my office,” Ms Yan said.
Ms Yan, who only started in real estate in August 2010, has always worked in sales.
“I love selling and I always go above and beyond for my clients. Winning this award again is very important for my business to reflect all the hard work we achieved as a team,” Ms Yan said.
“It’s also great for everyone at Ray White too as we truly do have the most supportive network in which agents can thrive and grow.”
Ray White Group Managing Director Dan White congratulated Helen Yan on her sustained success.
“We’re incredibly blessed to have some of the top female agents in the industry as part of the Ray White family. Helen Yan is one of the hardest working agents in the business and to see her honoured again and again by REB for her outstanding commitment to her clients is wonderful," Mr White said
Set against a series of serious challenges, this year’s REB Top 50 Women in Real Estate represents a high-performance group of agents who set an incredible standard; one that is difficult to keep pace with now, let alone pass in the years ahead.
The metrics used to generate the REB Top 50 Women in Real Estate ranking include the number of properties sold, total dollar volume of properties sold and the average sale value.
Each agent is ranked comparatively across these three metrics against their peers, with the combined comparative score used to determine the top-ranked women agents in the country.
Ray White Victoria and Tasmania CEO Stephen Dullens congratulated Ms Yan on her long-term success.
“Helen Yan represents the top female performer in a group of amazing high performers. These women are raising the bar for all women to follow,” he said.
“Helen has been making headlines in the business world for some time now and she’s an inspiration to many. Everyone at Ray White is very proud of her success. We look forward to supporting her ambitions into the future.”
Top 50 agents’ average days on market are also higher this year at 47 days, while their average sales price is lower at $1.39 million.
Their commission is lower than a top 10 performer at 1.78 per cent and they employ an average of 1.75 support staff members – well less than the 2 employed by a top 10 agent.
This is largely consistent with a top 50 profile a year ago, save that their average days on market are noticeably higher, at 47 against 34 in 2018.
The top 50 agent’s average sales price is up by $20,000 but their commission is down to 1.78 per cent from 1.84 per cent in 2018.
