RAY White Yorke Peninsula will be able to service their clients' needs better than ever with the expansion of their business into Moonta.
This will be taking on a fourth office, adding to David and Melissa Bussenschutt’s (pictured above) Ray White Yorke Peninsula business and will also bring with it the former business owner and local real estate expert Greg Smith. Mr Smith has been the agency principal of his real estate business for more than 31 years and will continue on as a sales agent at the Ray White Moonta office. The Ray White Yorke Peninsula team is also known for being the first office in the history of Ray White South Australia | Northern Territory to make Alan White Elite Business owners.Managing Director Melissa Bussenschutt and Sales Principal David Bussenschutt opened their first Ray White Yorke Peninsula office 11 years ago in Kadina. Prior to real estate, Ms Bussenschutt was a nurse while Mr Bussenschutt worked in the agricultural industry. Despite starting out as business owners with nothing but a mortgaged house, the couple have been able to grow their single office to cover the entire Yorke Peninsula.“We’ve been locals all our lives, we both decided to go into sales and a few years later we were offered the opportunity to open our own Ray White franchise,” Ms Bussenschutt said.“It was a massive move for us but we are big believers in nothing ventured, nothing gained. So with six kids between us and not much to our names we mortgaged the house and began our business.“Luckily, 18 months into owning the franchise it all started to flow and we were able to attract a bigger team and move to a larger office. Almost 10 years later and we would never consider going anywhere else.”Their continued expansion came off the back of a decision the couple made several years ago that they wanted to be the biggest and best agency on the Yorke Peninsula.“We’ve opened the four offices under one umbrella because they cover such a massive area and a huge market that we couldn’t get with just one office. It covered off an area where we were missing a lot of business,” Mr Bussenschutt said.“Now we are concentrating on nurturing our sales team and Greg will be a huge part of that. He comes to us with 31 years of real estate experience as well as being a local just like the rest of our team.”While, the pair are looking to continue growing the business into the future, Ms Bussenschutt said their customers are always at the heart of every decision“Our main priority is our clients and we place a high value on good quality customer service. Being able to cover such a large area means we can offer them the very best service,” she said.“Being a regional office, it’s more important than ever to give our clients good service. The more people you know, the more relationships you can build so we believe in good, old fashioned customer service.“We pride ourselves on being the local guys you can trust.”Like many other regional areas in Australia, the Yorke Peninsula has experienced a massive influx of new residents over the past year escaping lockdown and high density living.“For a five person sales team, the last year has been challenging. Just like everywhere else, the market is incredibly hot right now and there are no signs of it slowing,” Mr Bussenschutt said.“With COVID, there has been a significant number of people coming in from the city along with locals taking advantage of the market.“There are all these people in the city wanting to live up here or buy holiday homes because they can’t travel anywhere overseas. There’s also a lot of investors coming in and buyers from all over Australia, particularly New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania.“And there has been a fair influx of first home buyers spurred on by the recent government assistance that’s come along. Honestly, a great part of the job is that you get to meet people from all over.”Born and bred on the Yorke Peninsula, Greg Smith opened his real estate business in 1990 and has seen many changes in the industry over that time and has enjoyed seeing the Yorke Peninsula develop.“I have reached a time in my life where I still love real estate but want to step back from business ownership to spend more time with my family. I have no plans to leave the industry and I’m excited to be part of the Ray White team and to be able to keep following my passion which is sales,” Mr Smith said, who has been married to wife Wendy Smith for 31 years with three daughters, one granddaughter and another on the way.“My staff have been offered their positions and we all look forward to helping Ray White grow their business. Like my previous business, Ray White Yorke Peninsula has always been well respected within the local area which was important to me in my decision to sell my business to Melissa and David.”Ray White South Australia | Northern Territory CEO Matthew Lindblom congratulated the couple on opening their fourth office.“We are thrilled that Melissa and David have taken another step in growing their hugely successful business,” Mr Lindblom said.
“The pair perfectly represent the Ray White family values of integrity, leadership, discipline and the ambition to strive for more.
“They are the clear market leaders in the Yorke Peninsula and I have no doubt they will continue to achieve their goals and I look forward to celebrating their success.”
