    Mr Tyrrell previously worked for Ray White in Victoria as chief auctioneer from 2013 to 2015 and is excited to be stepping back into the role and working closely with the group’s performance team on auction training within Victoria and Tasmania.

    “I am passionate about auctions and Ray White being the leading auction real estate business in the country is a big driver for me to take on the role for Victoria and Tasmania,” Mr Tyrrell said.

    “I want to keep improving our auction process, growing our auction share in Victoria and Tasmania and continue to call auctions for the group.

    “I’ve got a wealth of experience after 20 years in the game as an auctioneer, including nine years with Ray White. I have thousands of auctions under my belt, and am a master auctioneer with the REIV, which named me auctioneer of the year in 2012 and 2013.

    “I love that I am able to support our Ray White members and help them improve their auction performance as it also helps our clients get great outcomes which is at the centre of everything we do.

    ”Mr Tyrrell has taken over the position from outgoing chief auctioneer, Matthew Condon, who had been in the role for almost four years.

    Mr Condon will continue with the Ray White Victoria and Tasmania network in a role focused on growth and recruitment along with still calling auctions for the leading group.

    During his tenure as chief auctioneer Mr Condon called over 3,325 auctions for Ray White and along with Mr Tyrrell led the Victorian and Tasmanian network through multiple lockdowns that saw auctions enter a new, virtual phase.

    “Matt has done a fantastic job as chief auctioneer for the network. He’s made a massive impact and without a doubt improved the process of auctions in the state. I congratulate him on doing an outstanding job as chief auctioneer,” Mr Tyrrell said.

    Last year, Melbourne was named as the most locked down city in the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Ray White was at the forefront of transitioning auctions entirely online (pictured above).

    “What I learned throughout COVID-19 was that it doesn’t matter how you deliver an auction. As long as the process is done right, where an auction is conducted is irrelevant,” he said.

    “As long as you give the buyers an avenue to buy property under competitive conditions, it will always work out favourably for the seller.”

    Ray White Victoria and Tasmania CEO Stephen Dullens congratulated Mr Tyrrell and Mr Condon on their new roles in the network.

    “We’re thrilled to welcome back Jeremy Tyrrell to our corporate team as our new chief auctioneer,” Mr Dullens said.

    “Jeremy has been working with us for almost a decade, helping us to become a market leading auction business in the state. Jeremy’s role will also include driving a significant portion of our training calendar.“

    Meanwhile, Matthew Condon’s focus will now be on the external growth of the Ray White Group across Victoria and Tasmania. He has done an exceptional job as chief auctioneer in our network and I have no doubt he will continue to be an asset to Ray White.”
