Ray White Geraldton held the regional auction for the 47th annual WA Telethon on 25 October 2014, raising $625,000 from the sale.
After an intense four week marketing campaign, More than 150 people turned out for the charity auction.
“We held open homes mid-week, on weekends and the Friday before the auction we held a twilight open with finger food,” Mike Murphy of Ray White Geraldton said.
Western Australia’s biggest charity event of the year, the 2014 Telethon was held over 24-26 October and raised a record $25m.
“The Telethon weekend is all but an institution in WA. We sell for absolutely no commission, the local paper covers the advertising cost and every cent of the sale is donated to Telethon.
.
“The mid west region is a great supporter of the event, and once again, WA Country Builders, their tradies and their suppliers have stepped up to construct a magnificent home in Deepdale Estate Geraldton.
“The developers of Deepdale are the Horwood family, a long established farming family in the mid west, and they donated the block of land to Telethon at no cost. It’s a time of year where the community really comes together,” Mike explains.
The home is a 400m² rural-style property with high quality design, build and finishes.
“The home is outstanding, with a separate parents retreat, and a superb living, family and kitchen area. The bedrooms are big and the home is fully ducted air conditioned.
“Outside, the home is on a landscaped and fenced 2300m² lot, with a veggie garden.
“There’s exposed aggregate floored verandahs and an alfresco area with a built in barbeque and benches that are serviced from the bi-fold windows to the kitchen.
Thrilled with the result, Mike says the buyers will be moving in before Christmas.
“The buyers are a local family and very proud Telethon home owners. They’re looking forward to celebrating Christmas in their new home,” he said.
