After 10 years of business ownership, Ray White Lidcombe principals Steven Duong and Rebecca Zhang have passed the baton to head of property management Sam Kopuz (pictured above).
Outgoing principals Mr Duong and Ms Zhang will continue with the business in a sales role that will allow them to support Mr Kopuz in his new leadership position.
Mr Kopuz knows “the A-to-Z of real estate” and has held many roles at Ray White Lidcombe across selling, property management and leasing in his 10 years with the business.
“Working at Ray White Lidcombe was my first job out of university. I started as a junior, after graduating from a Bachelor of Construction Management, majoring in Property Development, from UNSW," Mr Kopuz said.
"I was enthusiastic to begin my career at Ray White Lidcombe. I started with the simple tasks and worked hard to build up my experience in every facet of the business.
“I will continue to do what I do and be involved with selling, property management and all areas within the business. Meanwhile Steven and Rebecca will continue with their roles in sales which is what they’ve always been doing and love the most."
Mr Kopuz said they are like family at Ray White Lidcombe and he has known Mr Duong for close to 20 years.
“It’s very much like parents handing the business over to their son. Steven and Rebecca are the mum and dad of the business to us,” he said.
“I never see it as a job here – it’s something I’ve always wanted and love doing. I enjoy working with people, listening to their stories, learning their needs and adding value along the way.
“Over the years, I’ve built a strong work ethic and have always worked hard for my clients. I’ve built a solid clientele base in the local area through excellent negotiation and communication skills.
“I owe so much to Steven and Rebecca as well. They've taught me everything I know.”
Ms Zhang said they don't see the move as taking a step back but more of a change of scenery and Mr Kopuz’s commitment and work ethic has paved a solid foundation in becoming a well respected leader.
“Sam is like family to us as we've been through the majority of our journey together,” Ms Zhang said.
“Steven and I are still committed to servicing our clients and making an impact in our marketplace, though now in a different capacity. No matter what hats we've got on, I always believe that nothing can dim the light that shines from within.
“We have been very blessed with our achievements in the 10 years of owning the business, we've won local business awards multiple times, a consistent achiever of Ray White's Elite Performer status and the list goes on.
“But for us, we don't measure the success of the business by how many awards we've won, but rather we are more focused on our customer satisfaction and reputation.”
Ray White NSW | ACT CEO Tim Snell congratulated Mr Kopuz on taking over ownership of Ray White Lidcombe.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Sam as business owner of Ray White Lidcombe and are grateful to Steven and Rebecca for their hard work and dedication over the past 10 years,” Mr Snell said.
“Sam represents another addition to our next generation of young leaders coming through the group. We chase ambition and Sam’s knowledge and energy will no doubt continue to make him a valued member of Ray White.
“We look forward to celebrating his success in the future.”
