IN less than four hours Ray White agents last week drummed up 7401 extra appraisals across Australia and New Zealand, actively demonstrating how the leading group knows how to both harness its scale and have some fun along the way.

Ray White’s in-house tech team created a purpose built media room in the NSW Corporate office to host the group’s very first Real Estate of Origin, a coordinated group-wide appraisal drive that led to some friendly rivalry and great banter among its members.

The real-time call-a-thon saw 273 offices log in and participate in the appraisal drive, an initiative spearheaded by the group’s Head of Growth Mark McLeod.

“Today our business owners have an extra 7401 extra appraisals to conduct for prospective vendors, that’s a mammoth effort in less than four hours in each time zone. The Queensland network alone has 2101 new appraisals to undertake now which is terrific, so the Queenslanders win bragging rights this time,” Mr McLeod said.

“When energy is aligned and collectively we all focus on a very simple but important result, the outcome is amazing.

“We have now created a platform for our network to drive hard towards increasing appraisal numbers which we expect to flow through to a boost in sales in early 2020.

“The final number was 7401, and next time I expect we’ll surpass 10,000 appraisals.”

Mr McLeod gave a special shout out to the unsung heroes in Ray White Corporate - Ben Cowie, Dean Bowerman, Heath Honnery, Nathan Kennedy, the entire marketing team and his EA Chanel Bilsborough - who all played such an integral role in coordinating the day.

“I know the Real Estate of Origin exceeded everyone's expectations and is a precursor to what we can do in the future. I couldn't possibly share with you all of the texts, emails and calls I have received and many of you as well from our network saying what a great day it was,” Mr McLeod said.

“I would like to think we can smash the 10,000 appraisal barrier next time.”

The overall office with the most appraisals for the drive was Ray White Epsom in New Zealand which tallied up 373 appraisals.

The local winners were Ray White Manurewa (NZ network), Ray White Hobart (Vic & Tasmanian network), Ray White Mackay City (Queensland network), Ray White Saratoga-Davistown (NSW network), Ray White Whyalla (SA & NT network) and Ray White Broome (WA network).

Business owner Jo Boothroyd from Ray White Lara said the appraisal was a terrific initiative.

"The level of energy the Real Estate of Origin created in our office was incredible. Our results are testament to the buy-in and commitment from our sales team," Ms Boothroyd said.

"Ray White did a great job creating a competitive environment on an international scale.

“We got 60 appraisals in four hours. What a buzz!"
