Ray White Double Bay has once again proven its standing as one of the flagship offices in the international Ray White network, taking home the prestigious title of No.1 Office in Australia at the Ray White International Awards.

The legacy business has always been a cornerstone of success, both within the Ray White network and the Double Bay market and surrounding Eastern Suburbs. Elliott Placks, having bought into the business and then bought out the remaining owners, is a symbol of the success of years past moving directly into the future.

The award recognition is a milestone moment for the agency, as it officially opens its brand-new office in the heart of Double Bay. The new office has been a multi-year project that cements its position as a cornerstone of the community and the wider Ray White network.

It is also a true embodiment of the commitment the Double Bay team has in harnessing the opportunities on the horizon.

For Elliott Placks, Principal of Ray White Double Bay, the award recognition is a personal highlight in his 23-year journey with the brand.

“I’ve been with Ray White for 23 years this year, and I’m very proud to be here. I think for me it’s more than a job. I’m passionate about the business, about the White family, and making sure the future is as good as the past, if not better,” said Mr Placks.

General Manager Maddy Corrigan, who joined the business two years ago, said the win reflects both history and future opportunity.

“When I first came here, it felt like such a great platform. There’s so much growth, so much history in the Ray White Double Bay team. To be able to use that as a platform for continued growth and for the future is such an exciting opportunity,” Ms Corrigan said.

A culture of leadership and growth

Central to the Double Bay success story is its long-term investment in people and culture. The business runs a structured leadership pathway, from associate director through to director, underpinned by tenure, revenue, and shared values.

“It’s exciting to see people come along that journey; not just from the sales side, but also administration, which is really part of our leadership group,” said Mr Placks.

That approach has seen the Double Bay administration team recognised as Administration Team of the Year, Ray White New South Wales | ACT, a reflection of the business’s commitment to excellence across all departments.

“Leadership for us isn’t just about people who have titles,” said Ms Corrigan.

“There are lots of ways people can lead; either themselves, quietly, or in other aspects of the business. Winning the Administration Team of the Year is huge recognition of what that team does. It’s a high-performing team, and we need that as the backbone of the business.”

Industry-leading growth

Ray White Double Bay is not only an award-winning sales agency, but also one of the fastest-growing property management businesses in the country. Ms Corrigan credits the culture of care and development for attracting and retaining talent across all divisions.

“Ray White Double Bay has always been a flagship business in the Ray White network. Once people meet us, they see how much we care as a leadership group and as a company about our people and their growth. People want to be part of that, and we’re very proud,” she said.

Mr Placks agrees the team’s reputation and track record are hard to ignore.

“I’d like to think we’re a champion team. People stay because of the culture and the business. Externally, people see our success in core suburbs like Rose Bay, Double Bay, Vaucluse, Dover Heights, Point Piper; all big suburbs for turnover and GCI. Competitors want to join rather than compete, and together we’re stronger.”

A new chapter in Double Bay

The opening of the brand-new Double Bay office represents the culmination of a five-year journey that faced multiple challenges, from planning approvals to construction setbacks.

“We had DA knockbacks, builders going into liquidation but we just kept pushing. But now, speaking with the team here, you can feel the culture. People are collaborating across departments, and that’s powerful. This is a statement for Ray White and Ray White Double Bay: a cornerstone of Double Bay,” said Mr Placks.

The office brings together sales, property management, commercial, mortgage broking, and project teams under one roof, creating new synergies and client benefits.

Ms Corrigan said the future focus is clear.

“The new space has given our people so much pride,” she said.

“Looking to the future, we want to cement ourselves as champions of growth and development. People should know they can come to Ray White Double Bay for the best training, sharpen their skills, and use that as a platform for their own growth and wealth creation.”

Technology will also play a role in the next phase of the business.

“We’re looking at AI and technology to create efficiencies and help our team do their best work in this competitive industry,” Ms Corrigan said.

Mr Placks added: “The goal is to free up time so our people can spend more of it with clients. Technology can solve problems in the background, but nothing beats face-to-face conversations with owners, landlords, or tenants.

Commitment to clients

At the heart of every decision is client service.

“At the end of the day, this is a customer service industry. The better we equip our people, the better the client experience will be. Every decision we make is about that,” Ms Corrigan said.

With a heritage spanning more than 30 years, Ray White Double Bay continues to lead through legacy, leadership, and innovation, proving why it remains one of Australia’s number one real estate businesses.
