Ray White Canberra have continued with their investment into grass roots community sport, becoming the major sponsor of Wests Rugby Club in 2023.
The sponsorship agreement will see Wests carry the Ray White logo on the front of their men’s and women’s first grade jerseys, as well as on all junior jerseys.
This follows Ray White’s recent announcement of the major sponsorship of the Gungahlin Eagles, and their continued investment in the Brumbies Women’s program, where they provide funding directly to female players in an effort to help reduce out of pocket expenses incurred by women just to be able to play the game.
Ray White also sponsors the junior program and the Uni North Owls.
Chairman of the Ray White Canberra Group, Ben Faulks, said they were proud to continue their investment back into grass roots sports.
“We know that local sports clubs are part of the fabric of a strong community, and rugby in particular provides a unique sense of camaraderie and inclusion which aligns with the values of our business,” he said.
The Ray White Canberra business was founded as Ray White Belconnen in 2010, and is the dominant agency in the region.
“I know many of the volunteers involved in the Wests program from my playing days, and they are all passionate about making an impact to keep rugby thriving in the region. Being able to support them in that endeavour is something we are excited to be a part of,” Mr Faulks said.
With two Canberra clubs carrying the Ray White logo on their front of jersey will also launch the creation of the Ray White Cup, a three game home and away tournament between Wests and Gungahlin Eagles to be played out over the 2023 season.
“The Ray White Cup is an exciting initiative that we look forward to exploring with both clubs to help raise the profile of rugby in the community,” Mr Faulks said.
“For the winning club there will be a community grant on offer to invest back into their development programs, as well as bragging rights.”
Wests Rugby Club president Richard Wyche welcomed Ray White Canberra into the family on behalf of the entire club.
“Ben and his team have proven in recent years they are committed to supporting grassroots rugby in the ACT, and we are all looking forward to working closely together. The prospect of a Ray White Cup is very exciting in what is shaping up to be a fantastic year for rugby in 2023," he said.
“I urge all our members and supporters to contact Ben and his team when considering a local agent."
While the junior sponsorship will also provide kids the opportunity to play union and feel part of a community club.
Wests Rugby is a foundation club in the ACT based in Belconnen, with a proud history including an historic five grade premiership campaign in 2005.
