At the end of a tenancy agreement there are lots of things on your to do list – and one of the most common ones is cleaning the entire rental property from top to bottom.

When considering whether you will clean the house yourself or get professional cleaners in to do the job, there are a few things to think about.

The best way to figure out what is going to work best for you is to carefully consider the time you have, and whether you have the money to spend.

At the end of the day, if you have kept the house clean and tidy then it shouldn't be a huge project.

But an advantage of getting the rental house cleaned professionally is you can use the time you saved unpacking and cleaning your new home.

Sometimes tenancy agreements stipulate that tenants need to get the carpets professionally cleaned - and in some cases, your landlord or real estate agent may have cleaners they recommend or prefer.

However, another option is to hire a carpet cleaner and do it yourself, which can produce very similar results and may cost less.
