The auction for a three bedroom apartment in North Sydney was brought forward a week due to the high level of buyer interest and sold for $230,000 over reserve.
Marketed through Mark Whiteman of Ray White Lower North Shore, the property at 1/191-195 Walker Street, North Sydney sold for $1.48m at the early auction on 17 October 2014.
“The auction was originally scheduled for 25 October but I decided to bring the auction forward a week due to the strong interest in the property.
“I had taken 108 groups through the property, issued 15 contracts and knew that there were five serious buyers,” Mark said.
On the day of the auction, four of the five buyers registered and two entered the bidding.
“The opening bid was $1.25m, which was right on the reserve. Both buyers were downsizers and they fought it out until the bidding reached $1.48m and the property was sold,” Mark explains.
The garden apartment on Walker Street features three bedrooms, two bathrooms and parking for two cars.
“The floorplan is practical and open features district and ocean views. The apartment sits in a resort style complex which suited the downsizers,” Mark said.
