New office opens in Takanini, New Zealand

One of South Auckland’s major growth pockets is now home to one of real estate’s most respected professionals, Sue Douglas and the new team at Ray White Takanini.
Based in Takanini Village, Sue and Wayne believe the growth opportunities for the area are strong. Close to 89 per cent of the 246 sales in the area in the last year have been houses.
"Takanini is a developing area in South Auckland. We have a high population of young people, under 30 and our homes are affordable,” she explains.
“We have a large range of property types from first homes and investments, through to multi-family homes and lifestyle blocks.”
The sales in the area in the last 12 months have totalled $107million, with an average house price of $438,752 and unit price of $393,179.
“Addison, the area right on our doorstep, is popular with professional couples and young families, and even has some home and income opportunities. There is a large area of as-yet undeveloped land which will be developed into residential housing over the next 10-20 years as Auckland expands right on our doorstep.”
“We also have upmarket harbour-side suburb of Conifer Grove and the newer Longford Park. The Longford Park Retirement Village is also close by. The area is handy to the motorway both north to Auckland City and south to Hamilton, and is only 20 mins from Auckland's International Airport.”
Sue has lived all of life in South Auckland and has a long history in real estate. She started her real estate career in 1993, opened first office in Manurewa in 1998 and Ray White Takanini is her second office launched in February 2014.
Her husband Wayne joined her in the business in 1999 and today, still, they love working together. It’s such a family business, as is the case with so many Ray White offices, that her daughter Jodi works there.
“I get a real thrill out of helping people: initially to make their real estate dreams come true and later helping people in her business to grow and to achieve to their potential,” Sue says.
As much as she loves real estate, she adores the local community. She recently joined local Rotary Club of Alfriston in order to further pursue helping others in the community and around the world. In February she supported the Elvis in the Park show at the Botanical Gardens (the yellow balloons were unmissable) to support Kids First, and in March they are running a "breakfast to celebrate International Womens Day
“Every month we will be doing something in the community - to help to make our community a great place to live, work and play."
Her real estate office is made up of a young and growing team, many who are involved in various activities in the community from supporting meals-on-wheels to sponsoring soccer teams, supporting local schools, giving a fishing boat to a needy village in Fiji, supporting Kids First and so on.
The team’s ambition is to be the standout provider of real estate services in our area.
“Our mission is simply: helping people through property. We will genuinely engage with our community to fill the needs of a new and growing population. We will help to shape the Takanini of the future."
This office’s opening takes the Ray White Group in New Zealand to 135. It will be based in Takanini Village as part of the Takanini Village development and is a flagship standalone office located in the main hub of Stage 1 within the project. The office has been nominated for several design and fitout awards.
Ray White Takanini is now open and the details of the office can be found at their local website rwtakanini.co.nz
