THIS ultra modern residence in the heart of dress circle Ascot, designed by top architect Shaun Lockyer, ticks every box a family could ever want, and then some.

The impossibly stylish and functional formed concrete house at 30 Kitchener Rd, Ascot was meticulously planned and built by its owners Nick and Angela Barr.

The couple plus their three children, moved into the incredible home after engaging friend and architect Shaun Lockyer to design the ultimate family home.

Brisbane’s top prestige property agent, Matt Lancashire, principal of Ray White New Farm, said the functional layout of the five bedroom house was only possible for its expansive 25m frontage.

“This house has got what everyone wants but you cannot get and that’s the kitchen, butler’s pantry plus outdoor and indoor integration with flat grass and pool - all on one level. It’s perfect for families as you can see what the kids are up to in every room,” Mr Lancashire said.

“This style of build is generally done in Sydney, not in Brisbane. This is an ultra modern masterpiece,” Mr Lancashire said.

The 898sq m Kitchener Rd block - with its gardens designed by landscape designer Steven Clegg including a huge vertical garden at the back of the house - has two street access with a third car space via the lane on Jolimont Ave.

Because of the atrium-style design, there’s visibility of the whole house.

“I am yet to find a floorplan that literally works like this, it is the ultimate house and every part of it has been thoughtfully planned for functionality. I see a lot of houses that are beautiful masterpieces but you couldn’t live in it. I am regularly looking for a 25m frontage and they don’t exist too often,” Mr Lancashire said.

“For anyone who is realistically looking to build something, here is the house that will save you the next two years of your life.

“It will cut out stress, a potential divorce and a fall out with your builder. It’s all done and this is a timeless design. Many houses will date but this house won’t date. It will stand the test of time and in 20 years time it will still look amazing.”

Mr Barr said the atrium living room was where the magic happens.

“You can manage the house easily from here, and you can see where everyone is from the kitchen and living space,” Mr Barr said.

“When you have children your perception changes as to what’s important and you don’t understand that until you have children.”

The black exterior adjustable louvres are incredible for controlling the light in the house.

There’s a walk-in linen cupboard that makes many women swoon and the master suite has a walk-in wardrobe not dissimilar department store.

For sale via an expressions of interest campaign closing Friday, November 9 at 5pm, if not sold prior.
