The Ray White Victoria Point business owned by local Michelle Cattran is on a stellar growth path in 2021 as the local market continues to fire up.

“I'm really excited about the future. We always strive for a balance between my office's personal service and the selling power of Ray White and for us it's a winning combination,” said Ms Cattran, who has worked in the local real estate market for more than 33 years.

“The market is hot right now. We're selling properties within 24 hours of being listed. “Unfortunately we don't know how the end of JobKeeper and the end of the banks' mortgage repayment holidays will affect the market. It’s better to sell now while the going is good as we don't know how long it will last."

The Victoria Point team has just expanded with two well known local agents joining the business with Ben Bushby and Vern Jensen, and Adele Davidson joining the rentals team, all from Ray White Cleveland.

Ms Cattran has been in the industry for 33 years and has seen all the property cycles.

“I've seen a lot of changes since I first started in 1988. We didn't have mobiles or computers back then. We would write everything out by hand or type everything on a typewriter with carbon paper. We even had two way radios in our cars. “The first property that I listed for sale was in 1988 at Mount Cotton so my links with the Redlands area go back a long way.

“I think that 2021 will be just as challenging for us as 2020 has been in many ways. We currently have a lot of people moving here from interstate, both buying and renting, and this is pushing demand. “At present we can list a property for sale one day and sell it the next.

“With interest rates so low for the foreseeable future, landlords can see that it makes sense to increase their rental portfolios too as returns are good at present.

“One thing I do know from experience though is that booms and bust don't last forever, so if anyone is thinking of selling their property or buying an investment property I would encourage them to contact us now to make the most of the current market.”
