A familiar face has opened a brand new office in Tanilba Bay on the Port Stephens coast, in partnership with Australia’s leading real estate brand.
Greg Delahunty, who has become well known as one of leading agents in the community, is thrilled to make the move into business ownership and launch Ray White Tanilba Bay.
“I made the move into the real estate industry in 2008, after I wrapped up my landscaping business and my role in pro-golf customer service,” Mr Delahunty said.
“Real estate has always been something that I am passionate about; my dad was in the industry for many years and it is something I have always had a genuine interest in.”
Mr Delaunty said that when he decided to take the plunge, he wanted to do it with a company that aligned with his own personal values.
“While Ray White is the number one brand in the country, they are also very humble and down to earth, and that resonated with my own values and beliefs,” he said.
“We consider ourselves to be humble, hardworking and totally focused on servicing our community to the best of our ability.”
Tanilba Bay is located on the Tilligerry Peninsula, with the Ray White team servicing neighbouring towns Mallabula, Lemon Tree Passage and Salt Ash. The new and refurbished office is conveniently located right in the heart of the town.
The towns have a population of around 8,000 people, and have a mix of housing starting at $200,000 apartments and duplexes, to large blocks on the waterfront selling for up to $2m. Salt Ash is mainly an acreage region.
“It is a really beautiful place to live, with the whole region being very close to the water, making it very popular for boating, fishing and just some peace and quiet,” Mr Delahunty said.
“We get a lot of people from the country moving out here for a sea change; they want to be near the water but still enjoy the quiet country feel.”
“The area will always be in demand; it is worth living here for the lifestyle.”
Mr Delahunty, who has been recognised both on a state level and nationally for his excellence in the industry, says his biggest joy has been from the friendships he has developed with the local community, and wants to continue building on these through his new business.
Mr Delahunty is joined by his daughter Helaina Delahunty in the new business, who provides sales and rental support, as well as social media management.
“Helaina has been working alongside me on and off since she was 15 years old, and has lived in the region almost her entire life; she is very passionate and experienced,” Mr Delahunty said.
Ms Delahunty also spent time working in The Pilbara, Western Australia, as a property manager servicing above 250 properties.
Also Joining the Ray White Tanilba Bay team is Deborah Turner, a successful agent who is also known and loved by the community.
“We are thrilled to have Deborah on board; she will be the licensee in charge and has run her own successful business in the Maitland region for over 12 years and been in the industry for over 20,” Mr Delahunty said.
Ms Turner is known in the region for bringing a professional, friendly and approachable attitude to all her clients, and is always available to help out when needed in all aspects of the new office.
“The main goal for our first 12 months is to let people know that we are here, and to continue providing our services with honesty and integrity; we want to be an office where anyone can drop in and say g’day,” Mr Delahunty said.
Ray White New South Wales CEO Andrew McCulloch warmly welcomed the team into their new office.
