The elegant Italianate home at 5 Bridge Street is being marketed by Shaun Stoker of Ray White Erskineville.

The sellers undertook extensive renovations that transformed the home while respecting its heritage character.

“We loved living here with our three children, it was a wonderful place for family life,” the sellers said.

One of the biggest transformations undertaken by the sellers was turning the previously simple backyard garage area into an inviting outdoor entertaining space.

“The rear yard used to just have a swing-door garage. I repaved and replumbed everything and created an outdoor barbecue area with a wet bar,” they said.

“Because the house is open plan it’s big enough to host parties and have people over, which a lot of terrace homes can’t. It was fantastic for entertaining and for kids’ birthday parties.”

The sellers also replaced the ageing corrugated iron roof, updated the kitchen and laundry, and renovated the bathroom, ensuring the home was ready for modern living.

“We loved the area with its great cafes, pubs, parks and proximity to the city,” they said.

Mr Stoker said the home’s thoughtful renovation had created a seamless blend of heritage charm and contemporary comfort.

“Holding the prized end position in an elegant 1880s row of five, this grand Italianate terrace has been transformed into a refined residence where contemporary design elevates its timeless character,” Mr Stoker said.

“The renovation opens the interiors to the north through an internal atrium, drawing in natural light and creating fluid open-plan living designed for modern lifestyles.”

He said bi-fold doors connect the kitchen and dining areas to a private alfresco courtyard, creating an additional living space ideal for year-round entertaining.

“With secure rear lane access to parking, generous storage and a renovation that removes uncertainty for buyers, the home offers classical elegance with low-maintenance liveability just moments from the heart of Erskineville village, schools, parks and transport,” he said.
