Located at 229-292 Sleepy Hollow Road, ‘The Hollow’ is being marketed by Ray White Rural’s Peter Douglas on behalf of the sellers, the Marshall family.

With an asking price of $6 million, Mr Douglas said the property had received an influx of likes and comments on social media, with buyer interest coming as far afield as Sydney, Melbourne and rural retirees.

“The majority of the people looking are those who enjoy that area and the Pottsville surrounds more than the Byron Bay surrounds,” he said.

“It’s a bit quieter than the Byron Bay area, but it’s still only a 30 minute drive away.

“The property is beautiful. It’s a really unusual property. You can run a few cows and chooks, and have a few horses.

“There’s waterfalls on the property with walking and riding trails through the rainforest. It’s very pretty.

“Brisbane is only about an hour and a half away, plus, you’re only 10 minutes from the Pottsville hotel!”

The Marshalls have owned the property for 20 years, using the property predominantly as a weekend home for the family, running a few Angus cattle.

“It’s been a holiday home for 20 years with my dad going down 3-4 days a week living between there and Brisbane,” Lachlan Marshall said.

“As a family we’ve used it as a holiday home as it's really close to the beach.

“There’s so many different vantage points. From the top of the mountain ridge you can see the ocean.

“There’s different walks you can do through forests. It's an idyllic setting.

“There’s number of hot days where we've been able to bathe in the cool spring water by the waterfalls. It’s a really relaxing area with a relaxing lifestyle.

“We have really enjoyed the property as it’s been a conduit for our family and friends to gather and celebrate holidays.”

Mr Marshall said the property operated a bit like a hobby farm.

“It sits somewhere in between a workable farm and lifestyle block,” he said.

“We’ve really enjoyed the property over the last two decades, but we no longer have the capacity as a family to go down and take care of it.

“We’d love to see it go to someone who will cherish it as much as we have.”
