Two well-known organisations, the Ray White Group and Loan Market, will spend today renovating The Big Issue Women’s Subscription Enterprise office in Redfern to create an uplifting space for the women to work in.
With a new layout, a fresh coat of paint, new furniture and artwork, the women who work in the subscription enterprise office will have a modern, functioning and fun workspace by the end of the day.
The marketing teams from the Ray White Group and Loan Market will be busily making this space fabulous today, according to Karen Hall, the teams’ leader.
“This has all been made possible thanks to Ray White NSW’s CEO Stephen Nell and his team who have supported this initiative since the very beginning through fundraising and a very generous donation,” Karen Hall, Chief of Marketing at Ray White Group and Loan Market, said.
GoGet have donated cars and moving vans for the day, Dulux have supplied the paint and key suppliers such as The Promotions Factory, Printforce and The Explainers have also donated furniture for the space.
“At Ray White and Loan Market, we help people get into their new homes every day. When we heard about The Big Issue Women’s Subscription Enterprise needing a renovation of their workspace in Redfern we jumped at the chance to help.”
The Big Issue Women's Subscription Enterprise provides job opportunities for homeless, marginalised and disadvantaged women through the sale of The Big Issue magazine subscriptions.
The Big Issue magazine already provides employment to hundreds of people each year, their vendors are predominantly men. Selling magazines on the street is not a safe or viable option for many women, particularly those fleeing domestic violence or caring for children, so the The Big Issue Women’s Subscription Enterprise was formed to provide employment in a safe and secure environment.
