SOUL of Gerringong - the coastal-luxe holiday retreat favoured by everyone from Aussie legends Turia Pitt and Lisa Messenger, to fashion and design houses Oz Design to Billabong - has just hit the market for the first time.

The incredible project of Sydney-based builder and interior design team, Ben and Simone Mathews, has been in hot demand since it opened its doors three years ago. Soul is well known in high-end travel and design circles, highly regarded for its attention to detail.

Every space has been perfectly styled with consideration; both its hero Farmhouse, pool-side Cabana, studio Barn and the stand alone Cottage property sit high on the wish-list of many would-be holiday makers who dream of staying at this Insta-worthy retreat.

Ray White Gerringong agent Neil Campbell and Ray White Double Bay founder Craig Pontey said this bespoke holiday property at 143 Belinda St was in hot demand on the South Coast of NSW.

“Ben and Simone have created a beautiful sought-after haven which is booked out months in advance for holiday stays , corporate retreats, and for people looking for a slice of zen, only 1.5 hours south of Sydney. It is located in the very heart of Gerringong - walking distance to everything - coffee, cafes, beaches and photogenic Boat Harbour Rock Pool,” the pair said.

A unique business opportunity, the property is being sold with the ‘Soul of Gerringong’ business attached.

Simone Mathews said she and her husband Ben, owner of BAM Construction, created a new style of accommodation for the South Coast. “It was about blurring the line between a holiday house and a boutique hotel.”

The Cronulla-based husband and wife team bought the property in October 2015 as an original coastal farmhouse, now transformed into a luxurious coastal retreat with four dwellings sitting across two titles on 1525 sqm of land. The property consists of a four-bedroom Farmhouse, two-bedroom pool-side Cabana, one-bedroom studio Barn and a seperate three-bedroom cottage sleeping up to 22 persons.

“We opened on Melbourne Cup Day in 2017 and we were booked out one year in advance straight away. The properties have been very well received with a lot of repeat family and friend groups, plus a lot of well known companies using Soul for their off-site retreats. After we were featured in Qantas Magazine we had people contacting us straight from their flight to book in,” Ms Mathews said.

One of Australia’s most inspirational women, Turia Pitt, raved about her stay at Soul of Gerringong. On the SOUL of Gerringong blog, Ms Pitt comments: “It’s just so beautiful. Living here for a few days made me feel like Michelle Obama on a tropical island – graceful, relaxed, stylish and warm.”

The property goes to public auction on site on Tuesday April 7, 2020 with a buyer’s price guide of $4 million.
