A deceased estate in the Northbridge Apartments on Brisbane’s south bank has hit the market, offering buyers an entry to the penthouse market.

Going to auction through Damon Warat of Ray White Ascot, the property spans half of the entire top floor of the well-known building.

“In my opinion, this is the best apartment in the building. Two penthouses share the top floor and this one features a coveted north-easterly aspect and benefits the best angle to the views.

“Our instructions are to sell and this is an enormous opportunity for those buyers looking for an entry-level penthouse. The beneficiaries of the estate have no emotional attachment to the property and want it sold” Mr Warat said.

An entertainers home, the apartment at 44/228 Vulture Street, South Brisbane features one of the largest entraining balconies on the South Bank, with 145m² of outdoor living space.

“The view from the balcony is arguably one of the best in Brisbane.

“You see 180 degree panoramic views from the Gateway Bridge to Mt Cootha from wrap around balcony which can be accessed from every room,” Mr Warat explains.

An unusual twist to the sale, the late owner was an avid collector of Egyptian artifact reproductions and owned a collection worth an estimated $500,000.

“It’s a very rare collection and the owner added to it over a period of over 15 years. It was his pride and joy and we estimated the worth of the collection to be in excess of $500,000.

“We decided to sell the artifacts separately and being a deceased estate the collection sold for a significantly reduced price,” Mr Warat said.

Featuring three bedrooms, two bathrooms and parking for two cars, the penthouse spans 280m² of living space.

The residence at 44/228 Vulture Street, South Brisbane goes to auction on 15 October 2014 and Mr Warat says the property will sell on the day.
