A real estate business that began as a rural auction house for livestock in outback Queensland today announces it’s entering the live online auction market.
Ray White launches its live online auctions in Queensland today with 13 properties going under the hammer from 10.30am, allowing buyers to bid on properties remotely.
“Auctions have always been a big part of our business. Ray White began as an auction house for livestock and over the past 112 years they have formed the foundation of our business,” Ray White Queensland auctioneer, Haesley Cush said.
Ray White Live Online Auctions are designed to give more freedom to active buyers in the Queensland market.
“Interested bidders can register online. Marketing agents are alerted to each registration and required to accept or decline the registration.
“On the day of the auction, registered bidders log in and are connected directly to the Ray White auction room complete with video cameras and sound.
“Through the auction screen, they can place bids which will be received in the room by a clerk who will communicate with the auctioneer,” Haesley explains.
With more and more industries launching into online services, Haesley says it’s becoming increasingly important to be involved.
“There are two energies when it comes to auctions.
“There are the people who want things literally at their fingertips - they want to be able to access things on their phone and tablet while they’re on the go. These people thrive for innovations and would purchase a property online in the blink of an eye.
“Then there are the people who aren’t comfortable with the prospect of buying something as significant as a property at the touch of a button. That’s why it’s important to offer our clients the freedom to work with whatever they’re comfortable with,” he said.
Ray White are launching live online auctions in Queensland with plans to open up the service nationally in 2015.
