When Manfred and Franziska Hiller built their family home 50 years ago, they created a Bavarian-style property unique to the Blacktown area.
The couple purchased the land at 25 Berg Street, Blacktown in the 1960s and Manfred built the home himself, keeping true to their German culture.
“This home isn’t typical of the properties you find in the area,” selling agent, Andrew Sparks of Ray White St Martins said.
“Inside has a true Bavarian feel to it and the garage has been converted to a man cave, complete with its own bar. Outside, the backyard is picturesque and Franziska has spent countless hours caring for the gardens.”
Mr Sparks says the three bedroom double-brick home is an affordable option for buyers looking for a family home, with price expectations above $520,000.
“The home is spacious, with high ceilings, open plan living areas. Manfred and Franziska have meticulously maintained the property and even after 50 years it’s in excellent condition,” he said.
For the owners, the time has come to leave their much-loved home.
“It wasn’t an easy decision for them to make, but Manfred and Franziska have chosen to sell the home that they’ve loved for 50 years.
“They’ll be staying in the area and moving into a local retirement village,” Mr Sparks explains.
The property at 25 Berg Street, Blacktown will be going to auction on 4 October 2014.
