First home buyer, Emma Patterson can now call herself a homeowner after not only bidding for the first time ever at auction but also being the winning bidder.
Ms Patterson can now call a two bedroom unit at 5/25 Stevenson St, Ascot home and said she was both shocked and excited by the result.
“It was my first time bidding at an auction which was definitely nerve wracking because I wasn’t sure what to expect but I went in with an open mind and it paid off,” she said.
“I began looking about three months ago and this was one of the first I inspected and I just kept coming back to it.
“I was fairly daunted about buying with everything going on but I started to get an idea that now is a good time to buy considering what’s happening and I decided to take advantage of the situation.”
The Ascot unit was listed by Ray White Ascot sales associate Shenal Yigitbas Sales who said the bidding opened at $300,000 and quickly moved up to $355,000 before the unit sold for $361,000.
“The auction moved quickly and we had two of the three bidders active,” Ms Yigitbas said
“Emma saw the unit in the first week that it came out and has loved it ever since. She was over the moon and in tears when she was signing the contract.”
